Inspired early in life by her father, a Disneyland artist, Linda Briggs has always loved art and nature. The realization of her artistic talent was influenced by a very special art teacher in high school. Briggs' first career move to Hawaii's Bishop Museum in 1988 led to her fascination with Hawaiian history, culture, spiritual beliefs, surroundings, and family life. Briggs expresses her respect for the islands in her careful and colorful studies of the sea, sky, flora, and fauna. Her depictions of lush tropical floral and Hawaiian scenes echo the exotic beauty and vibrancy of the islands she calls home. "Art is life because life is art in motion."
