Piece Time Puzzles, LLC

Born and raised in New Hampshire, Michele knew at an early age that her life would be involved in one artistic endeavor or another.  Starting out with drawing, painting, and sewing, she explored dressmaking, designing children's clothing and into formalwear and wedding dresses.  She earned a diploma in interior decorating, though she is not currently active in the field.  She remains fascinated with homes and their designs, often helping friends with remodeling layouts and use of space.

When she revisted quilting in 1976, Michele found a passion that would fill all the gaps the other mediums left.  After learning the traditional basics and techniques from wonderful local and national instructors, Michele quickly skipped off in her own directions.  Combining the design background with color sense, she started producing her own line of patterns, including graceful Renaissance Angels, Santas and variations on traditional pieced designs.

Since the 90's, she has been intrigued with the avility of fabrics, threads, fibers and beads to resemble natural images.  To that end she has also been playing with photography for inspiration.  It's a little tough sometimes because she hates new technologies; but it's okay, they hate her back.  "I hope I live long enough to show this computer who's boss."

Michele loves to do site specific work and visits clients' homes to see the 'space,' then from their ideas, she develops artwork specifically for the client.  It's great to 'grow' a piece from an idea into a tactile, dimensional, fascinating art quilt.

Michele's piece are in collections across the country and internationally.  "I hope my art brings the viewer to another place or time and spreads a sense of wonder and thoughtfulness."
